DSAA launches a new training program with Muraho Technology

Empowering Rwanda's tech talent with soft-skills to boost their employability

On December 13th Muraho Technology launched a training program in partnership with the Digital Skills Accelerator Africa (DSAA e.V.), with a focus on empowering Rwanda’s tech talent with soft-skills to boost their employability.

Such skills will include resumé and cover letter writing, working within a team in an international setting, as well as applying for jobs in the local and international job markets.

60 applicants, most of whom are graduates from DSAA previous training programs, expressed their interests to join. Since limited slots were available, the first 40 applicants were selected to attend this cohort with others being placed on a waiting list.

From the start, the participants identified the biggest gaps such as standing out during the recruitment process and learning how to communicate in various professional settings.

As Fred Birori said, “I would like to learn how to write an original resumé and cover letter so as to stop copying from other people.”

Whereas Grace Mutesayire said she was “looking forward to knowing what hiring managers want in a resumé and how to behave during an interview.”

The training is being delivered and facilitated by subject matter experts from Muraho, who not only have themselves graduated from such programs but also have real-life experiences with which they can support the participants in this program.

“You can’t build a career without soft skills. As well, if you want to double your value on the market, you have to triple your learnings,” Rosine Ugwaneza BIT, ISTQB®, a trainer from Muraho said.

From the start, DSAA has been an effective and active implementation partner. From recruitment to the implementation of the program, with guidance and support in the process- these qualities are what Muraho is thankful for in their partnership with DSAA.
